WanderBites is a social food-discovery app. You follow people whose taste you trust, and see where they recommend eating. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.

What we collect
Account information
Your email address, and if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google returns (name, email, profile picture). We use this to create and secure your account.
Profile information you choose to provide
Display name, username, bio, profile and cover photos, home city, taste tags, and taste personality. All of this is optional except a display name and username, and all of it is visible to other users by design — a WanderBites profile is a public thing.
Content you create
Recommendations, what-to-order notes, photos you upload, lists, comments, saves, visits, and ratings you give to other people's recommendations.
Location
With your permission, your approximate or precise location, used to centre the map on you, show distance to restaurants, and rank nearby suggestions. Location is used while you are using the app; we do not track you in the background, and we do not store a history of where you have been. If you decline the permission, the app still works — you can browse and search anywhere in the world manually.
Usage and diagnostics
Anonymous analytics events (screens opened, actions like saving a restaurant) and crash reports, through Google Firebase. These help us find bugs and understand which features are used. They are not sold or used to build advertising profiles.
Device token
If you enable notifications, a push token so we can deliver them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertising.
- We do not track your location in the background.
- We do not use your data to build advertising profiles.

Restaurant information and photos shown in the app come from Google Maps Platform and are subject to Google's terms. Photos posted by users are theirs.
How long we keep it
Account and profile data is kept while your account exists. Analytics and crash data are retained on Firebase's default schedules. When you delete your account, see Delete your account.
Your choices and rights
Delete your account
In the app: Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, recommendations, photos, lists, saves, visits and follows. This cannot be undone.
If you cannot access the app, email exceldaily7@gmail.com from the address on the account with the subject "Delete my WanderBites account" and we will delete it within 30 days. Full instructions are on the account deletion page.
Access or correct your data
Most of it is editable in Edit profile. For anything else, email us.
Location
You can revoke the location permission at any time in Android Settings; the app degrades gracefully.
Notifications
Turn them off in the app's settings or in Android settings.
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights (for example under GDPR or the CCPA), including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Email us and we will honour them.
Children
WanderBites is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your content is enforced at the database level with row-level security, so users can only read and write what they are entitled to. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
